"And he who was seated on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' Then he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." —Revelation 21:5

As a recent graduate, I am slowly but surely learning the ins and outs of this post-college life. People informed me it would be different, awesome, strange, exciting, and rather difficult at times—all of which have proven to be true. While my friends and I are adjusting to this "real world," I am reminded of the importance of being fully present wherever I am planted. For now, that place is Birmingham. In the fall of 2015, it will be Bundibugyo, Uganda.
I have been appointed to serve as a missionary in Uganda with Serge (formerly World Harvest Mission). I will work with a group of missionaries who strive to equip, heal, and train up individuals in and around the Bundibugyo community. With my interests in nutrition, physical fitness, and youth discipleship, I will be using all three in exciting ways by working in a malnutrition clinic and serving wherever needed in Christ School Bundibugyo. These things I know: it will be challenging, it will force me out of my comfort zone, it will teach me patience, it will be mentally, physically, and spiritually exhausting, and I know I will miss my family and friends. But, God is good and He will provide the strength, peace, and clarity to overcome any fear or trial I face. And with that, soli deo gloria; to God be the glory! http://serge.org/. |

"This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving something I have traded for it. I want it to be a gain, not loss; good, not evil; success, not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it."
